No. Rook piercings require a pronounced antihelix ridge. Some ears have flat or poorly defined antihelix structures that can't support this piercing. Our Los Angeles piercers assess your anatomy during consultation.
Rook piercings rate moderate to moderately-high (6-8 out of 10) due to thick cartilage. You'll feel pressure and likely a "crunch" sensation. The pain is brief but more intense than some ear piercings.
Both are inner ear piercings. The rook passes through the antihelix ridge (higher in the ear), while the daith passes through the innermost cartilage fold above the ear canal (lower). Both create partially hidden effects.
Rook piercings don't interfere with earbuds as directly as tragus piercings, but avoid earbuds during healing (9-12 months) to prevent pressure and bacteria introduction. After healing, most people can use earbuds normally.
